How to Use a Hydraulic Puller

Choose the right puller for the job. The size and capacity of the puller you need will depend on the size and weight of the component you are removing.
Select the appropriate adapter. The adapter is what connects the puller to the component you are removing. There are many different types of adapters available, so be sure to choose the one that is right for your application.
Attach the adapter to the puller. The adapter should be screwed or bolted securely to the puller.
Position the puller on the component. The puller should be positioned so that the adapter is centered on the component you are removing.
Pump the handle to extend the ram. The ram is the part of the puller that applies pressure to the component. As you pump the handle, the ram will extend and push against the component.
Continue pumping the handle until the component is removed. The amount of force required to remove the component will vary depending on the size and weight of the component, as well as the amount of corrosion or rust that is present.
Once the component is removed, slowly release the pressure by turning the pressure release valve. This will prevent the ram from retracting too quickly and damaging the puller or the surrounding area.
Repeat steps 5-7 for each component you need to remove.

    Safety Precautions

Always wear safety glasses and gloves when using a hydraulic puller. Hydraulic pressure can be dangerous, and it is important to protect yourself from injury.
Make sure the puller is stable before applying pressure. The puller should be firmly anchored to the workpiece or to a sturdy support surface.
Do not exceed the rated capacity of the puller. Using a puller that is too small for the job can result in damage to the puller or the surrounding area.
Never use a damaged or defective puller. If the puller is damaged, it should be repaired or replaced before use.
Bleed the air out of the hydraulic system before using the puller. Air in the system can cause the puller to operate erratically or not at all.
Store the puller in a clean, dry place when not in use. This will help to prevent the puller from rusting or corroding.
